COMMEMORATIVE STONES: I like to think of these unique pieces in the same way we think about scrapbooking: to document memories, commemorate a special life event, and connect with our personal experiences.

Often commissioned to be given as gifts, these one-of-a-kind Stones communicate a purpose. We will collaborate together through this process and bring to life, what you envision as your Commemorative Stone.

A very dear client commissioned this Stone for her "work husband", described as a very giving man who takes care of others. I learned that he cares about humanity, likes everything related to the beach and his favorite color is turquoise. And so, the idea was to create a Stone to relfect the ocean, seashells and seahorses in turquiose and gold colors. Invested as an EQ transformational training coach, his "contract" words are: Passionate, Loving, Free. These 3 words were placed on the Stone itself, "floating out of the waves", which extend beyond the Stone. The lower portion portrays a texture comparable to sand, incorporating shells, embellishments, crystals and hearts. The Seahorse is raised as a 3-dimensinal focal point of the Stone. As a lover of the ocean water and all things beach-related, myself, this Stone was a great joy for me to create.

This Stone was commissioned by a woman who had recently moved to Las Vegas with her husband. They are both avid hikers and have taken fondly to the golden light of the Red Rock Mountains, at sunset. Her request was to present this to him as a Birthday gift, to signify this move, their connection and their love of nature. I created this 3-dimensional Story Stone painting pieces of ripped sandpaper which emulate the roughness of the mountains, and incorporate pieces of rock I collected right from the mountains - I broke them down into smaller pieces to add further dimernsion and tangibility. The golden glow of the painted colors, scattered with golden pieces create a warmth to reflect the sunset. To represent their love of nature, I created a tree with the branch extending outwards and a heart that reflects their eternal love for each other.

This was a gift to a dear friend of mine as a Thank You for teaching me how to properly use the machines in my new fitness studio. As I had never been properly shown the mechanics, I called on her for help. She graciously offered her time and we enjoyed a wonderful morning together. She is a body builder, an inspirational sports & nutrition conditioning specialist, and a shining example of healthy living. She advocates a lifestyle of embracing our best life in health and wellness, mind-body-spirit. She envisioned a forest-themed Stone with focus on mushrooms, nature, and authenticity. Hard to see from this photograph but the pathways is rich and textured, created with pieces of birchbark, pinecones, chipmunk pickings and pine needles all gathered from Algonquin Park, Ontario. As a final touch, I presented her Forest Stone, sprayed with a Pine-Scented essential oil.
